ABOUT
We invite you to an incredible journey to one of the most beautiful places in Europe, the Faroe
Islands, from May 19 to 24, 2026. This is a joint tour of the Music Expedition project and the Northern Puffin birdwatching travel agency.
A "Musical Expedition"?
Yes, "Music Expedition" - is a project of the famous cellist Boris Andrianov. The idea is simple: Boris gathers a team of world-class musicians and invites everyone who wants to go on a musical expedition to some incredibly beautiful place. Every day they play concerts in some picturesque places - sometimes it's a medieval church, sometimes the coast of the sea, and sometimes the garden of some farmer, with whom the team met an hour ago.

What about the birds?
The Faroe Islands are one of the best places for birdwatching, so we're going with Alexander Borzenko, a guide and host of the birdwatching channel "Northern Puffin" and the birdwatching podcast "Did You See Vitya?". Some people may know Alexander from the parenting podcast
"First, Give Birth."

Perhaps the most famous inhabitants of the Faroe Islands are the puffins, but you can also find boobies, cormorants, auks, skuas, large and short-tailed guillemots, thin-billed murres, and many others. In addition to seabirds, it is also interesting to see various beautiful small birds, as this is the time of spring migration, and many interesting birds stay on the islands for a rest.

Alexander has been conducting birdwatching tours for many years and tries to introduce as many people as possible to the world of birds — to teach them to identify species by appearance and by voice, to tell them about how they live, reproduce and migrate. So we will not only listen to music, but also watch birds.
Is there a program?
Yes, there is. We don't have a minute-by-minute schedule, it's a journey, we leave room for improvisation. But here are our main plans:
MAY 19
After arrival and introduction we go on a not-difficult hike to the Trælanípa rock, look at the Sørvágsvatn lake, which hangs over the ocean, and stop near the Bøsdalafossur waterfall. On the way we chat and look at birds: for example, boobies and middle curlews.

In the evening we go to the village of Bøur, which stands on the shore of the lake. There we have a welcome dinner and the first concert.
MAY 20
After breakfast, we go to the village of Kirkjubøur to see the birds: sandpipers, stonechats, northern puffins, cormorants, and many others. Then we walk around the village and listen to music in the old church or on the picturesque ruins, depending on the weather.

After the picnic, we go to the port of Gamlarætt, board the motorboats, and take a boat trip around the island of Hestur. Here we will see the bird markets and watch the skuas, mewing gulls, various seagulls and terns.
MAY 21
In the morning, we take a ferry to the island of Nólsoy to see the colonies of puffins and other seabirds. Puffins are the cutest birds on the planet!

In the evening, we attend a concert in the city of Tórshavn.
MAY 22
This day is dedicated to Kalsoy Island. In addition to birds and music, we will definitely pay tribute to the memory. James Bond (his grave from the last Bond movie is located here). Then a hike to the Kallur lighthouse. In the evening there will be a concert in the old church.
MAY 23
In the Faroe Islands, it's technically challenging to find a place that doesn't look like a postcard, but the village of Saksun is truly enchanting. If we have the energy and desire, we'll embark on a hike through the breathtaking landscapes. However, if we're not up for the hike, we'll explore the beach at Tjørnuvík and take a bus to Saksun. Of birds, we will look for large and short-tailed skuas, medium-sized plovers, red-breasted loons, and others.

In the evening, there will be free time, a farewell dinner, and music.
